A significant group of passionate Masons have come together to create what aims to be nothing less than the premier international research society in Freemasonry. Called simply The Masonic Society, we have gathered together brothers who have a deep and abiding desire to seek knowledge, explore history, discover symbolism, debate philosophies, and in short, who are at the forefront of charting a path for the future of Freemasonry. The Masonic Society counts among its founding members the best-known authors and scholars of the Masonic world.

The Journal of The Masonic Society premiered in July 2008. Edited by Christopher L. Hodapp, best-selling author of Freemasons For Dummies, The Journal is a quarterly, full-color magazine that is distributed to the members of The Masonic Society, and other subscribers. Each issue presents articles that enlighten our past, and explore solutions to the challenges facing Freemasonry today and tomorrow. We provide Masonic news, photos and commentary from around the globe, and feature articles by the best-known authors in Freemasonry. There are also articles from the non-Masonic academic world that is looking with greater interest than ever at Freemasonry and its place in society.

The Journal of The Masonic Society is the only North American-based magazine devoted to the entire fraternity of Freemasonry that accepts advertising. What this means is that for the first time in decades, companies with products of interest to Freemasons – jewelry, regalia, books, gifts, clothing, and more – now have a place to inform U.S., Canadian, and international Freemasons that they are open for business.

Issues are published in January, April, July, and October. Deadlines are June 20th for the Summer issue, September 20th for the Autumn issue, December 20th for the Winter issue, and March 20th for the Spring issue.

New ad rates as of June 2015 are as follows. (There is no charge for color versus black and white.)
