Please be aware that sales of the back issues of The Journal of the Masonic Society are held back two issues (six months) in order that we may ensure that all members and subscribers who are entitled to a copy of that issue are able to get one.  Thus, the last issue you will see available for sale at any given time will be two issues prior to the current issue sent to our members and subscribers.  We appreciate your understanding of this policy.




In the past, we have handled overseas postage by adding a $5 surcharge to each item purchased by customers from non-US and non-Canadian addresses.  This used to cover overseas shipping costs, but after several postal rate increases over the past few years, in a growing number of cases this is insufficient to pay our costs.  Additionally, for overseas customers wishing to purchase a large number of copies of the Journal (e.g., a complete run), this makes the amount paid for shipping unacceptably high.


Moreover, we have not in the past charged Canadian customers any surcharge, as First Class large envelope rates were reasonable and we did not lose money on them.  This is no longer the case and we cannot continue to absorb the loss involved.


Therefore, as of 1 April 2019, we changed to the following policy for non-US orders:

  • The $5 per-item surcharge for items being sent overseas (outside the US and Canada) was removed from the system and is no longer charged.  (If you see differently, please let us know immediately.)
  • We have changed the "Free Shipping" method to "Standard Shipping" to prevent confusion.  Standard shipping is still free to US customers.
  • When purchasing items to be sent overseas, please use the “Standard Shipping” method.  However, since this method does not include overseas postage, we will send you a separate notice for postage.  There are only two ways to purchase items from this store, so there are two ways this will be handled, as follows:
    • If paying with PayPal:  You will be sent (manually, so please be patient) a PayPal invoice for overseas postage.  This additional PayPal invoice must be paid in full before we ship your items.
    • If using a Print and Mail order form:  Please do NOT send anything to us until you receive an email from the Secretary-Treasurer indicating what your actual invoice total, including overseas postage charges, will be.  Your order will be shipped when both the merchandise and the overseas postage is paid in full.

This change means that overseas customers will be paying actual postage rates and not an arbitrary surcharge.  We believe this will make everyone happier all the way around, and it will certainly help us cover our costs more accurately.

Please be aware that all orders may take between 4-6 weeks to ship.  While they may ship faster than that, I am one person with a day job and half a dozen Masonic secretarial committments to attend to.  Thank you for your understanding.


We do not ship COD and we do not send separate invoices (except as noted above in the NEW shipping policy). All orders MUST be paid for before they will be shipped. "Print out and mail" orders will be held in the system for 10 days from the date of order, and will be cancelled if payment is not received by that time. Similarly, all orders booked for payment via Paypal but left unpaid in "pending" status after 10 days will be cancelled.


We cannot ship any item as a gift. Thank you for your understanding.
