Membership dues and subscription fees are always due and payable in advance. The Society bills its renewals on a quarter system. The quarters are April-June, July-September, October-December, and January-March. New members and subscribers get the current issue of the Journal immediately when they sign up. This means that by the beginning of the quarter in which their renewal falls, they should already have received the four copies to which their annual dues or fees entitle them. In order to avoid billing in arrears for the Journal, the Society sends renewal notices thirty days before the due date. The due date is the first day of the calendar quarter in which your anniversary date falls. For instance, if your anniversary date is Febuary 15, your dues notice will be sent on December 1, with the due date being January 1. While we realize that this means an early first renewal for members whose anniversary dates fall in the latter part of any given quarter, all members will be sent four issues of the Journal each year prior to receiving a renewal notice. Our aim in imposing this policy is to maintain our fiscal responsibility to the Society and its members by not sending out Journals which have not been paid for. There are three notices sent to members and subscribers. First, a dues invoice, which is sent thirty days before the due date. Second, a reminder statement sent on the due date. Finally, a final notice statement sent thirty days after the due date (sixty days after the first billing). Failure to pay after ninety days from the original billing results in an automatic suspension of membership (including forum access rights) or of subscription without further notice. Questions regarding this policy should be directed to the Executive Director. (5/26/2009) |
